We Are Not Always Related By Blood

We Are Not Always Related By Blood by Barbara Harbeson |

When I go to a card store it is usually a long and sometimes worthless process to pick a card for a member of my family. Perhaps you say that I should write my own, and I do. However, what makes a card stretch  the emotions of  the  majority of  people  and not be so for your own?   I believe it is more to the note of honesty. We like to give a message that says that our Mother is the reason we are alive and although this is true it was not necessarily always  favored reason. Then to the point of a siblings: there really arn’t any cards that expresses the real things that should be said between sisters like  You are a control freak, and game over . A card for a brother is special and should read  It would be wonderful if we were all as self contained as you, then I would not be sending you this card. I do believe there is truly a market for these kinds of sentiments, but people would rather not accept that they feel that way because it would not be nice. I think honesty is better. I also think that it would certainly get you closer or further from an obvious “not real” situation. Comments on this subject are welcome.

Affirmation For Any Age

Sometimes we see the truth in life. Usually it streams in and around the thirties. Up to that point it is OK to be one, and now for some reason one is not enough. More is needed to sustain and grow. To continue growing up toward the sky is useless. It is necessary to multiply our spirit some how. There are people who do this through procreation and others through art, writing, etc. in order to leave something behind. Money too, is a sign that you were here and lived, so this is what you have to show for it.

“The Shiny Things” grow dim through time and child’s play is just that. Work feels like life and life work That is when the spirit of life decides. Up to this point all seems easy. A child, then friends, establishing who we are, by what we do. But then there is work, and what is beyond this work is our life. So a decision must be made as to what the beyond means to you.

Just as the farmer decides what to plant and when to harvest, you too must plan the next stage of your life, otherwise, the land will lay dormant and nothing will grow and time will decide for you. It is not enough to get up each day, but rather the huge effort to put one foot in front of another becomes the focus unless there is destination involved at which point the mind takes over.

A “True design” begins with a thought, a dream. Pen and Paper help to establish the reality of thought (write it down, make it happen). Plan even what you cannot see. Travel, a wife, a husband, success, a garden, art to do, what kind of friends you want in your life and what kind of residence where you’ll live. What you believe and what you don’t will determine the outcome of your plan and how far it will go.
When a human is born, it automatically comes with a built in immune system to protect from exposure to the world. That protection wears off and requires us to build up our own immunity to things that we cannot see that will harm us. More damaging is that which can harm the spirit. Protection against that is the hardest thing to acquire. Some people use religion, substances, work, adventure, sex , fame or their own recipe to numb painful emotions that seep into and conquer the spirit.

Some choose a plan that can protect them by surrounding life with that which you like, not with the one that happens to you. This can protect you because it secures your existence as your own. Making changes and being flexible with life is a key, disappointment is a part of life and must be acknowledged and dealt with accordingly, and the “Pursuit of Happiness” is only an idea. The rest is up to you.
